A cozy spot for breakfast and lunch.
The Common Cafe and Patisserie, 637 Washington St. in Norwood, is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. The mismatched tables, brick walls lined with art work by local artisans and the smell of fresh baked goods will make you feel right at home. The Common Cafe is open for breakfast at 7 a.m. and closes after lunch at 3 p.m. Patch sat down with one of the owners Paul Avramidis to find out about the house specialties and what the cafe has to offer it's customers. Patch: What are some of your specialties? Avramidis: On our breakfast menu we have egg sandwiches on assorted homemade breads, omeletes of your choice, muffins and pastries that we bake on the premises. For lunch we have homemade soup, specialty wraps and sandwiches.

After the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was captured, many felt relieved, especially residents in Watertown. But Patch wanted to know how Norwood felt about the capture. It's One Hot Piece of Glass and a real find in Norwood!
Luke Adams Glass located at 416 Lenox Street is a destination place in Norwood. You walk right into this live artist studio with several glass makers standing in front of the roaring ovens where they mold and make these beautiful objects of art made from glass. Time is of the essence as the glass has to be perfectly heated to bend and stretch. Patch sat down with the man himself, Luke Adams, to discuss glass, classes and jewelry. The Photothon will take place on the Norwood Common on Thursday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Dan Busler Photography is hosting a Photothon on the Norwood Town Common on Thursday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The organizers are asking participants to wear your Boston sports team logos, colors, and racing bib numbers. Busler will take your picture and then you'll receive a digital copy to download. There is a suggested donation of $5 for each photo and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the One Fund, which has been set up to benefit those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings. Charlotte Walsh, owner of Charles River Running crossed the finish line two minutes after the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon. Walsh then decided to create a 3-mile run as a vigil for the victims and as a way for runners to heal.
After the Boston Marathon bombings Charlotte Walsh, owner of Charles River Running in Norwood, wanted to do something for the community. And within two hours she decided to have a 3-mile run and 2-mile walk as a vigil for the victims and as a way to heal from the attacks. Walsh was a runner for Boston Marathon and crossed the finish line two minutes before the explosions. But she wants to use the walking vigil as a way to remind everyone to stay strong. Thanks to social media dozens came out wearing blue and yellow to remember the victims of the attack and mourn those who died. Karen Clemons brought her two sons to the event.
