On September 20, 1975, President Ford signed into law, legislation that returned Veterans’ Day observations to November 11, each year. This year, November 11, 2012, is a Sunday. In order to be respectful to the congregations surrounding VFW Square (Town Common), and in order to not be disruptive to their services on a Sunday morning, the Norwood American Legion requested permission from the Board of Selectmen to hold the Veterans’ Day Parade and observances on Sunday, November 11, 2012, with the following changes: 11:00 a.m. - Military Mass at Saint Catherine of Siena Church. 12:30 p.m. – Parade from Balch School.
