What would you like to see take the place of Joe & Maria's at the Hampton Inn on Rte. 1?

This week, we're continuing our "Visions for Vacancies" series where we showcase an empty storefront in town and ask you what should take up the space. So today we ask you, what should go in the restaurant space at the Hampton Inn on Rte. 1 that used to be Joe & Maria's? Joe and Maria's was a family-owned Italian restaurant. It was founded in 1991 as a pizza shop and moved to the larger location in 2004, then closed its doors in June of 2012. What do you think should go in the location? Another Italian restaurant? So today we ask you, what should go in at the large empty building on Boston-Providence Highway that used to be Decathlon? Decathlon USA announced closure of all its operations in September of 2006. Four Massachusetts locations - Bellingham, Burlington, Hanover and Norwood - were all shuttered in the months after the announcement. What do you think should go in the location? Sarah, it's funny you should mention Furlongs I haven't been in that store for 30 years (I'm a dinosaur)..I went in last week looking for a graduation box. The gal in there is a sweetheart. She told me 3 women have owned it for 30 years, and have NO intention of changing anything. I should of brought a broom with me to sweep the past away.
