Norwood Residents Arrested on Drug Charges in Walpole Weeks After Previous Charges Dropped

Brothers Dejan and Peter Katic were arrested in Walpole last Thursday, less than two weeks after similar charges brought by Norwood Police were dismissed due to the mishandling of drug samples by state Department of Public Health chemist Annie Dookhan.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Walpole Police arrested 27-year-old Dejan Katic and 24-year-old Peter Katic, along with 27-year-old Derek Boutilier, also of Norwood, after a surveillance unit witnessed a hand-to-hand drug transaction. According to a Norwood Police press release, a Walpole Police detective saw Dejan Katic sell heroin to Boutilier at Katic’s place of business. Hyde Park Man Charged with Selling Heroin and Cocaine

Norwood Police began an investigation on the suspect, arrested yesterday in Canton, almost a month ago.

A Hyde Park man was arrested Monday and charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine after allegedly selling drugs to an undercover officer in Walpole. A joint task force - the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) - including detectives from Walpole, Norwood and Canton arrested Reinaldo Ortiz, 28, of 60 Margaretta Drive, Hyde Park and charged him with two counts of heroin distribution and one count of cocaine distribution as well as two counts of violating the commonwealth’s school zone law as well. Stoughton Bank Robber Arrested After Fleeing Through Norwood

A Brockton man was arrested in Walpole Monday evening for robbing Webster Bank in Stoughton earlier in the day.

A 30-year-old white male was arrested and charged in connection with an unarmed bank robbery in Stoughton after attempting to use the money at a Norwood supermarket, according to Norwood Police logs. Nicholas Twomey, 30, of Homesite Rd. in Brockton, robbed Webster Bank on Washington St. in Stoughton Monday afternoon and then fled the scene, but was arrested in Walpole later Monday evening, Stoughton Police Executive Officer Robert Devine said. Twomey entered Webster Bank, located at the corner of Washington and Monk Streets, around 3 p.m. on June 11, passed a note to the teller, and made off with about $2,000 in cash, Devine said.
