A Norwood man described by a judge as "volatile and dangerous" is being held without bail after he allegedly kidnapped and beat a woman in Northborough over the weekend. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Robert W. Ferris, 28, of 410 Buckminster Dr., Norwood, held without bail after a dangerousness hearing in Westborough District Court on Tuesday. In making the ruling, Virzi said Ferris posed a danger to both the unidentified victim and the community if released, citing both his past record - he has been charged with assault five times previously and has an outstanding permanent restraining order taken out by another woman - as well as the details of the current case.
