Traffic was tied up for over an hour while a truck was removed from underneath the Morse Street Bridge Monday afternoon.
Norwood Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Morse Street Bridge Monday afternoon when a truck got stuck under the bridge. Norwood Fire spokesman George Morrice said that one person was injured in the crash and was transported to Norwood Hospital with minor injuries. Traffic was tied up for about one and a half hours while a tow truck pulled the stuck vehicle out from under the bridge.
The right hand and break down lanes are currently closed.
A Norwood man will be charged in a hit and run on Washington St. Friday night.
A 40-year-old Norwood man will be charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident causing serious personal injury after hitting a bicyclist on Washington St. Friday night. Norwood police officers responded to a report of a man hit by a vehicle on Washington St. at the corner of Granite just after 9:00 p.m. "On arrival the officers found a man with serious injuries," a police statement reads. "His bicycle had extensive damage and was in the road nearby. The man, who is a local physician, was taken by ambulance to Norwood Hospital and then transferred to a Boston Hospital where he is currently in stable condition."
