Norwood Police arrested two parties on Saturday for shoplifting and drug possession.
Editor's note: The following is a press release from the Norwood Police Department. On Saturday, Dec. 29 Norwood Police arrested 36-year-old Christin Quattrucci of 61 Hayward Dr., Stoughton and 49-year-old Ergin Abaz of 5 Fairview Rd., Canton. Norwood Police Dispatch received a call reporting that the two were observed shoplifting at T.J. Maxx. It was reported to the responding officers Chris Flanagan and Jared Kullich that the suspects were removing security tags from the merchandise. On scene officers spoke with the two that were still inside the store. Norwood Police arrested a Mattapan man after witnessing him break into a vehicle at Work Out World on Route 1.
The following is from the Norwood Police Department: On Friday, Dec. 28 at about 2:00 p.m., a woman reported to Norwood Police that her car had been broken into while parked in the lot at Pier One Imports. Officer Eric Kascavitch headed to the scene to investigate. In the meantime, Officer Robert Harkins, who was working plainclothes in an anticrime unit, headed for the parking lot of Work Out World (WOW) on Route 1. Officer Harkins knew that the parking lots of fitness centers had been recent targets for vehicle break-ins and that cars parked at WOW had been hit during the fall months. As previously reported, the Sudbury Police Department responded to a total of five houses that had been broken into on October 11 and one attempted break. The investigation revealed two separate, unrelated crews were breaking into houses that day. Already arrested for a portion of the breaks was Sheridan Bond (25) of 140 Swanson Road in Boxborough. An arrest warrant has been obtained for another individual, Jonathan Lemay (21) LKA of 303 Central Street in Acton, MA. It is our understanding Lemay is already in custody on unrelated matters. NORPAC Detectives seized over 100 pounds of Marijuana with a street value of $300,000 from an apartment in Norwood on Friday.
Detectives from several local police departments, including Norwood, arrested a Brockton man on Friday after he allegedly delivered over 30 pounds of Marijuana to an apartment in Norwood. Calvin J. Lorelike Jr., 61, of Brockton, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute Marijuana and was scheduled to be arraigned in Dedham District Court today. A Norwood Police statement said that detectives from the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) Detectives Unit had learned in the course of an investigation that Marijuana was being shipped to addresses in Norwood and West Roxbury.
