Brothers Dejan and Peter Katic were arrested in Walpole last Thursday, less than two weeks after similar charges brought by Norwood Police were dismissed due to the mishandling of drug samples by state Department of Public Health chemist Annie Dookhan.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Walpole Police arrested 27-year-old Dejan Katic and 24-year-old Peter Katic, along with 27-year-old Derek Boutilier, also of Norwood, after a surveillance unit witnessed a hand-to-hand drug transaction. According to a Norwood Police press release, a Walpole Police detective saw Dejan Katic sell heroin to Boutilier at Katic’s place of business. On Friday the Norwood Police Anti-Crime unit arrested four people after conductive surveillance on a local apartment complex.
The following is a press release from the Norwood Police Department: On Friday Jan. 4, 2013, Norwood Police Officers assigned to an anti-crime unit were conducting surveillance on a local apartment complex, when they observed a 27-year-old male known to them as Kevin Cunningham, of Norwood, stop by an apartment there, enter then exit quickly, then leave the area. Cunningham was driving a vehicle, and in addition to be an unlicensed driver he has a history of drug activity which plainclothes officers felt his quick visit was consistent with. George Georgakakais, 39, of 157 Crane Avenue in Taunton, was charged with possessing a counterfeit note, uttering a counterfeit note, receiving stolen property and possession of heroin and Suboxone.
The following information is from the Norwood Police Department: A Taunton man was arrested by patrolmen of the Norwood Police Department Monday after he tried to pass a counterfeit bill at the McDonald’s at Route One and Everett Street. At about 10:45 a.m., NPD dispatchers received a call from a McDonald’s employee who told them a man had just fled the restaurant after passing a phony $20 bill. Officer Dylan Haldiman headed for McDonald’s while Officer Christopher Flanagan set up along Route One to watch for the car. After only a few minutes, Officer Flanagan spotted the car southbound near Sumner Street and stopped it. Norwood Police and NORPAC detectives closed a three-month investigation on Tuesday.
Norwood Police and the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) Task Force closed a three month investigation on Tuesday with the arrest of Jonathan Winn, 40, of Norwood, for allegedly dealing in opiates. The investigation was led by Norwood Detective Cliff Brown. Winn, of 728 Neponset Street, Norwood was charged with Possession of a Class B Substance (Percocet) and Trafficking in Opiates. According to a police statement, in early September Officer Tom Annino took a report from several concerned citizens who raised suspicions about activity involving several vehicles at Winn's home. They suspected the occupants of the vehicles were involved in drug dealing and had recorded plate numbers of these vehicles. An investigation was then …

The following information is from a press release from the Norwood Police Department: On Tuesday, Nov. 20, Norwood detectives completed a month-long investigation led by Officer David Eysie, who along with other Norwood detectives and members of the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) Task Force arrested Angel Rosa, 34, from Somerville and George J. McAuley, 64, of Norwood on multiple drug charges. Both men were booked at Norwood Police Headquarters and will be arraigned at the Dedham District Court. McAuley was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act, as well as being issued a civil citation for Marijuana possession. Norwood Police arrested three suspects last week after suspicious activity interrupted their surveillance in another case.
On Tuesday, Nov. 13 plainclothes officers and detectives of the Norwood Police Department arrested two men for drug-related charges while on a surveillance assignment for a separate investigation. Officers were on their way to the surveillance location when they passed through an area of recent high drug activity, a police statement said. "Delaying their plan for just a few moments to check on the second location they were quickly presented with a suspicious individual whose actions gave rise to the officer’s suspicions that he was there to buy or sell narcotics," the statement said.
