Selectmen Notes: Board Talks Norwood Day Success, Need for Regulation of Food Trucks in Town

Brief notes from Tuesday night's Norwood Board of Selectmen meeting.

Recreation Superintendent Talks Norwood Day Success, Upcoming Events Superintendent of the Norwood Recreation Department Gerald Miller attended Tuesday night's Board of Selectmen meeting to give a monthly report to the Board. Miller started out by noting the success of last weekend's Norwood Day festivities, including the fireworks Friday and Saturday's fair on the Town Common. "It's just a great day," Miller said. "Norwood Day has become a tradition that I never envisioned." The annual presentation of the Ann Lydon Volunteer of the Year award also happened Saturday, with Peggy Thorn this year's winner. Norwood Day 2012 Schedule

Information on the events for the 10th annual Norwood Day taking place this Saturday, Sept. 15.

The 10th annual Norwood Day celebration will be held this Saturday, Sept. 15, in the center of town. Norwood Day buttons are $3 in advance and $4 the day of the event, and give the wearer access to the Taste of Norwood food tent, trolleys, rides, the rock wall, and other games and activities. Buttons can be purchased at the Civic Center, Morrill Library, and the Town Hall, as well as at the fireworks Friday night. The following is a basic schedule and outline of the events that will be going on over the weekend: FRIDAY, Sept. 14 The Norwood Police and Fire softball game that was to be held Friday evening has been postponed.
