Drumming Through February School Break
Otha Day visited the Norwood Public Library to teach his "Drum to the Beat" class.
The Norwood Public Library always enjoys putting on events for children. But they really wanted to find something that would get both parents and children involved. "Kelly thought it would be a great idea to bring in a drum circle to the library," Jane Bradley, a librarian, said about her colleague that booked the event. "And I believe that the children really enjoyed it." Otha Day is the instructor of the "Drum to the Beat" program. He teaches in schools, libraries and even medical facilities. "Not a lot of people know this, but drumming has a very therapeutic aspect to it," he said. And when it comes to teaching children, he is happy when parents are involved.
