Thunderstorms, Flash Floods Possible in Norwood Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch from 4 p.m. Thursday through Friday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms, some possibly severe, could hit Norwood tonight according to the National Weather Service. Starting around 10 p.m. Thursday, the NWS is predicting a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms for the Norwood area. Some storms may be severe, with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain. A flash flood warning has also been issued starting at 4 p.m. Thursday and continuing through Friday morning. The forecast for the weekend is more of the same for local residents, with heavy rain and thunderstorms predicted through Saturday night. Severe Thunderstorms Possible to Start the Week

Norwood is expected to see heavy rain with the possibility of thunderstorms Monday into Monday evening.

Heavy rain and developing thunderstorms are predicted for Norwood to start the week, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS office in Taunton has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook due to the possibility of a few "strong to severe" thunderstorms in the area. Local heavy rainfall may also produce short-lived flooding. Thunderstorms are most likely between 7 p.m. and midnight Monday as the system moves east across Massachusetts. Thunderstorms Possible Friday Night in Norwood

The National Weather Service reports a slight chance of storms severe enough to cause gusting winds and hail.

Norwood and the surrounding area can expect more rain tonight in the form of showers and possible thunderstorms according to the National Weather Service. The NWS office in Taunton predicts showers and a few thunderstorms mainly between 4-10 p.m. A hazardous weather outlook has been issued as well, stating, "There is a low probability a few thunderstorms this afternoon and evening may be strong enough to produce hail and/or strong gusty winds."
