Hilarious..... And haven't seen it yet, but thought Sally Field was poorly cast when I saw the commercial for the movie.
And as your former teacher/mentor/agent - you are a fantastic writer with natural wit, and an uncanny ability to entertain and make people laugh.
    Keep up the fabulous work.

Wait... Don't misinterpret legit! I meant, I was raised here, as were my parents and grandparents, so I fall into that category of "townie." I agree that anyone who lives and lives it here- and is willing to be an invested member of the community - definitely is a townie!

Nice to meet you! Legit "townie" here, but also recently elected to TM for the first time, and have very similar goals. It's our turn to raise our kids here, we have to be the loudest voice. Looking forward to meeting/ working with you. Colleen, district 1

Thanks for reading, and for sharing our pain... These are tough times all around, but I am encouraging parents to consider " doing nothing" unacceptable. Here in Norwood, and in towns all over, we citizens need to remember that it's our money. That's our money. We elect town officials to handle it responsibly, and with the best interests of our community at the forefront of decision making. That's not the case right now, so we are heading out Tuesday at 6 pm to let town government see that we would like some changes. Best if luck to you. Share our story, and keep us posted in your own battles.

We are starting with a show of support for our schools on Tuesday March 20th 2012 at 6pm. We would like town government to see how concerned their citizens are about the budget, and hear their plans to remedy the problem.

As a parent of three, teacher for Norwood public schools, home owner, third generation family of Norwood, and alumni of Norwood public schools, I can assure you there is nothing "empty" about my sentiments. My colleagues jobs are on the line. Class sizes will swell. And I applaud the organization of the fine arts community last night, but for folks unfamiliar with the severity and totality of cuts- all they heard was fine arts was in jeapordy. And you're very correct in reminding people that it is a smaller community. The cuts hurt everyone. Remember, there are no "feeder" programs for athletics funded by the schools. If you want your child to be an athlete- you pay. Early and often. And you spend years of your life on baseball fields, soccer fields, and at pools and rinks. And you drive all over creation multiple nights a week, and all weekend. Those folks who have invested thousands and thousands of dollars on athletics, and thousands of family hours supporting it, may be less sympathetic. Those folks may have stopped listening. Those folks may not be alarmed that kids get pulled during school hours, by a school employee to receive their extracurricular support. So you're right- do not polarize this issue. It is best to not lose the Forrest for the trees, because the cuts well beyond the fine arts will hurt all of our kids, and our community.
