Replywhoopdie doo - most air strips in this area have no manned towers, pilots know this (plymouth, mansfield, etc). Manned towers are the exception not the rule, don't believe the hype and put down the kool-aid.

On the article You Ask...Patch Answers: Who is Supposed to Shovel the Sidewalk?
Mr. Ragman

ReplyThe town sets the precedent by plowing sidewalks. They have done it for years and if it is not done and someone gets hurt as a result, it it the town's fault since they have set the precedent and taken the responsibility of clearing the sidewalks, where in fact they do.

Replysure, raise taxes on people paying for social programs through their income tax and lower consumptive taxes so the layabouts pay less. This is totally bass-ackward. Many states are foregoing income tax all together to encourage employment in their state while raising consumptive taxes that EVERYONE will pay even illegals and people buying stuff with public assistance. The whole of the underground economy also pays this tax (drug dealers, etc.) since they love to buy stuff, especially expensive stuff. This is a furthering of the obnoxious theory of 'fair share' morphing into 'balance approach'. No one can argue fair share (consumptive tax) but many, many will argue what is balanced and who comes up with the formula.

Replyall true, but why did the sidewalk plows work Friday night and never to be seen again? There was no school on Friday and the kids don't go to school on Saturday or Sunday? It seems these sidewalk plowers are left to their own demise and overtime rules.

On the announcement A $5.4 Million Dollar Gift for Norwood
Mr. Ragman

Replydon't forget to mention a dance recital, little league games, soccer tryouts, football games, craft fairs, throw in railroad tracks being demolished on short street ant that intersection of Washington St. will be a mess. I like how our leaders say we need more recreation, yet are willing to sacrifice the tennis . courts and put 110 parking spaces on what is now full growth forest of beautiful trees adjacent to a pond (I guess you could always fish from the bed of your pickup truck). The only way they get away with this is because the tennis courts are not on school property - remember the fiasco with the fields at Callahan and Oldham (who owns them?) The state has on a list $5.6 million tied to an ice rink in Roxbury. Its not written in stone, they do not have to put out the money. $5.6 does NOT build a rink, it builds about 1/3 of a rink which you will soon find out when our leaders ask town meeting for another $11 million to fund the rest - get real Shea, this thing is far from a done deal, and you are wasting your breath making yourself feel good tonight.
