Obituary: Teresa Noah (O'Brien) Pitts, U.S. Navy Wave in World War II

Teresa Norah (O’Brien) Pitts of Arlington, formerly of Norwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.

Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Norah (Connolly) O’Brien, the beloved wife of the late Daniel Pitts, the loving mother of Mary Margaret Pitts of Dedham and Joseph Pitts with whom she lived in Arlington, the dear sister of the late Joseph O’Brien, Mary Rose, and George and Francis O’Brien and the cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. 

Teresa served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked in the West Roxbury VA for several years after the war. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m.to 7 p.m.,  Sunday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Teresa’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
